These delicious bites make use of the scrumptiously sweet Medjool dates, with the crunch of almonds, and the bitter but sweet taste of cacao. They are easy to make and can be a fun activity for the whole family and a nice treat for even the pickiest kids.

- 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil
- 160g or one cup of ground Hazelnuts
- 210g fresh pitted Medjool dates
- 160g or one cup natural almonds
- 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Firstly, take the almonds, oil, cacao, cinnamon, maple syrup and mix in a food processor until the whole mixture combines and has a sticky consistency.
Place a sheet of baking parchment on your kitchen worktop and pour the chopped hazelnuts onto the parchment. Take tablespoons full of the date and chocolate mixture and form into a ball, roll in the chopped hazelnuts to coat. Creamy Chocolate Pudding
This is our all time favourite when it comes to healthy sweet snacks for kids. We all know as parents that we sometimes have to “hide” vegetables, or healthy foods in our recipes so our children will eat it without figuring out what’s in it! This sweet treat covers that base, and then some. We call this, the healthy, creamy, tasty, kid approved chocolate pudding.
Makes four 1/2 cup servings
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 2 large ripe avocados
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Slice the avocados in half and remove the pip. Take a spoon and remove the central flesh from the avocados and add to a food processor.
Add in the maple syrup, vanilla, milk and lastly the cocoa powder to the food processor. Blend this on a high setting until smooth.
Once smooth, place in the fridge for an hour and serve. You can add other ingredients to make it more sweet, or more crunchy with bananas or hazelnuts, etc. We at fruity packs love this recipe and we are sure your kids and family will enjoy making this for years to come!
